How do you tell a DWG file from a renamed file?
Each file inside the ZIP is checked against real DWG file signatures, not just its filename or extension — a file renamed to end in ".dwg" that isn't genuinely a DWG file is correctly skipped.
Is this the same as converting a DWG file?
No. This tool only extracts existing DWG files from inside a ZIP archive — it doesn't convert them to another format. Use one of the dedicated converters for that once you have the DWG file.
